DYI Nursing Cover

So my sister in law just had her baby and I wanted to make something for her. So I made a nursing cover. Its super cheap to make and its super EASY. For all the materials it was about
$ 10 plus tax.

Here is what you need

Items needed:

1 yard of cute frabic
15 inch piece of boning
2 medal D- rings ( 1")

Instructions:

Step 1

From the frabic cut one rectangle 26"x 28" for the main body.

Step 2

Cut one strip 4 1/4 " wide by 18" long, then cut 12" from that strip. You should have 2 strips. They will be the straps for the cover.

Step 3

Place your main body to the side.
With the iron, fold straps in half make sure its lengthwise with the right side facing each other.

Step 4

Back to the main body. On the short sides fold them 1/2 inch and then iron and fold again. After you iron, use your pins to hold them steady and iron again with pins.

Step 5

Grab the smaller strap and sew 1/4 " away from the raw edges. Make sure the cute pattern are facing each other.

Now grab the longer strap and repeat the same as the smaller strap. At the end of the frabric taper the stitching at the end so its comes to a point.

Step 6

After you sewed the smaller and large strap trim the excess with scissors and turn it inside out. ( the cute frabric should now be facing you)

Step 7

On both straps rotate the seams so its centered down the middle. Now iron both sides and stitch along both edges

Step 8

Grab the smaller strap and fold it in half and place the 2 D- rings in the middle. Sew a line across the strap. That will hold the 2 D- rings in place

Step 9

Now stitch the main body that you ironed in step 4.

Step 10

On the main body on the bottom iron and stitch 1/2" like you did on step 4

Step 11

On the main body on the top we are going to do the same thing as step 4, but instead of 1/2" do it 1 inch.

* this is to give space for the boning to slide through*

Step 12

Now measure 9 inches from either side of the body for the straps

Step 13

Pin them seam down and stitch it on the bottom of the entire fold. Place the straps on the correct spot facing downward.

Step 14

Now stitch and back stitch a verticial line and stop right when it hits the 10 inch mark This will keep the boning from coming out.

Step 15

Place the boning inside the casting make sure the facing it outward.

Step 16

Once the boning is in place stitch another vertical line on the other side to keep it in place

Step 17

Then stich a line across the top flipping the straps up.

ALL DONE!
